Blue Lagoon Iceland - Front page, gallery and compare
Havign worked with the wonderful people at the Blue Lagoon for 2 years now and getting awards for your joint venture it was a bit daunting to have to do a kind of realignment of the front page and other core pages. We set out to not throw the baby out with the bathwater as there are several elements that worked quite well on the "old" site. The large fullscreen hero image on the front page became quite the trendsetter. That is there still but with the added effect of HTML5 particle steam, I believe the first of it's kind on the world wide web.
The project

We set out to not throw the baby out with the bathwater as there are several elements that worked quite well on the "old" site. The large fullscreen hero image on the front page became quite the trendsetter. That is there still but with the added effect of HTML5 particle steam, I believe the first of it's kind on the world wide web.
The new front page is quite long, meaning you have to scroll a fair bit. We made that scrolling experience more enjoyable by animating elements while you scroll, all animation is subtle and elegant, like the lagoon itself.
